    Living in Phoenix for 20 years has given me a healthy fear of the sun. Anytime I go to the beach I MUST have an umbrella. This summer we travelled back to NJ and went to the shore for a few days. I didn't want to worry about renting or buying an umbrella there so researched options for something I could travel with. Couldn't be happier. This thing is well built, light but sturdy, and small enough to fit in a suitcase. I always get nervous when the wind picks up but this sucker stayed put! Thanks much for a great product.

We also bought the hooks that wrap around the pole and they are surprisingly useful. We set it up on a windy day and it was rock solid.

It surprisingly did great in light winds, and blocked the heat when sitting under the unbrella. Very happy to be one of only a few people to have their own unbrella on the beach (not rented). The umbrella is well made and provides ample shade for my husband and myself. Easy to set up and take down and it fits in my suitcase with no problem. I also purchased the 4 piece tethering kit to give me peace of mind when the wind starts kicking up. The pop open table was a great addition. Had several people on our beach ask about the umbrella and accessories. I told my husband that this was the best purchase we had made in a long time.

    You really need 2 of these for great sun protection. The design with the table option gets a lot of attention on the beach. Then when you see how compact these are, you want one. Not sure how they are in heavier breezes, because we never tested it, but in normal every day ocean breeze, they hold up well. The price for the combo umbrella/table is a big plus and surprise when I looked them up online. Shipping charge was a little steep.

    The Portabella fit perfectly in my suitcase. It was easy to carry to the beach. My husband took a beach umbrella from the condo where we were staying but I had the Portabella in the sand and ready to go and he was still fumbling with the other umbrella. Large enough for both of us since he didn't bother setting up the other one. Did not use sand bags but saw a couple other umbrellas blow away but the Portabella stayed put. It could be adjusted for the sun as the day went on without having to move the umbrella.

    These might be our 4th and 5th replacement umbrellas over approximately 10 years. We travel with them for several weeks to the islands every year so they get a good work-out with sun, wind, and baggage handlers. We also use them at local beaches on summer trips. They are easy to pack and well-worth the few pounds sacrificed in checked bags. They're much more substantial than anything you'll buy at grocery stores and offer UV protection.

    I received my first Portabrella as a gift over five years ago. Loved the paisley light blue/white design on the umbrella. Soon loved it for its stability when used and its portability. She took three trips with me to Hawaii and two to Mexico. Being able to bring it with me as a carry-on was a plus which allowed me to save $$ as I did not have to rent an umbrella at my vacation destinations. People often came up to ask about my Portabrella. This summer my loved Portabrella met is match with high winds during a beach visit. I was not able to repair it and visited web site immediately to purchase a replecemet. I opted to purchase two. Only dissaponting thing was that I came to find out that the Paisley Light Blue/White design I fell in love with was no longer manufactured. I am not happy with the solid blue option available, but still ordered two. Why - because afterall I knew that if I purchased from any other company I wouldn't have been satisfied.

    Used for our beach trips. Worked great. Only one comment: some of the beachs were hard packed sand. We used the metal rod to get the umbrella into the sand as far as possible. Though the umbrella did not tip over, it was affected by high wind sometimes. Maybe a diagonal brace into the sand would be good for those real windy times. Thank you for making it. It's a real good umbrella. We were very satisfied and allowed me to stay on the sunny beach to enjoy it much longer than I would normally.

I keep it in my trunk during the summer for beach days. On windy days I take one of the poles off and shorten it so it doesn't blow away.

    This is the third umbrella that I have purchased. The first two are still in perfect working order and have traveled from the Caribbean to Cape Cod and the islands. Unlike other umbrellas that I have purchased in the past I have never seen the wind take one of these out of the sand and toss it across the beach as Ive seen many times with other beach goers. I stick one in the sand on my beach at the beginning of the summer and it remains on the beach for the rest of the season. They are very durable! The third one is going to make a great Birthday gift for my daughter that is compact enough to store in her car for the beach season.

    For two people to use this is by far THE BEST umbrella on the market. No joke! I am at the beach every weekend all year around. I live in San Diego and people are always visiting from out of town who want to go to the beach. To get to the beach you usually have to go down some sort of hill or cliff...and nobody want to carry a heavy and long umbrella. This is so compact you don't even notice it while you are carrying it. I have ordered several different umbrellas over the years (mostly off of Amazon). Upscale, expensive, inexpensive, big, small, compact, wind proof (none of them are windproof). I found major flaws with each and everyone of them usually by the end of one season. I can confidently say this is the THE BEST umbrella I have used so far. When and if I need to I will order another one in the future. I ordered the table attachment and highly recommend you do as well. You can thank me later as it is an awesome feature. Also, I do not use the screw feature directly into the sand. Get a the adapter off amazon called "beach umbrella sand anchor" which is white with two wide handles to stabilize the bottom and bury it deep into the sand. That is the best anchor I have found so far.

    I bought three of them umbrellas for our recent trip to Virgin Islands. They were lightweight and easily packed. Thank goodness we brought these with up. Umbrellas are were fantastic on the beach. While others were roasting, we were perfectly comfortable. Umbrellas are well made. There height and tilt adjustment were extremely useful. On some windier days, we only used 2 of the 3 poles to keep umbrella low and used tilt mechanism to tilt toward wind will great result.

    Bought for our trip to the Virgin Islands. Very compact although slightly longer than the dimensions listed. Fit perfectly in our large checked bag but not our carry on. No shade on the beach, no problem we brought our own. Make the day enjoyable instead of unbearable.

    This is a full sized, well-made beach umbrella, just collapses a bit further than a normal model.You can even adjust the height by omitting one of the poles. Our main vehicle is a motorcycle, so packing light for the beach is crucial. I can just swing this over my shoulder like a yoga mat and go!

    This turned out to be one of the best pieces of beach equipment I have ever purchased. It is light, compact and sturdier than I imagined. It handled a week on Bavaro beach with fairly strong winds without a glitch. It fit in our suitcases effortlessly and we just threw it over a shoulder to walk down to the beach. We never had to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a spot, we just strolled down to the waterfront and set up mid morning. We were the only ones on the beach with shade at a lot of times during the day, and received endless compliments and kudos throughout the week!

    Highly recommend for beach travellers!

    Finally received the portabrella after a Jan 15 and then a Feb 15 backorder wait. Can't wait to take it to the beach on vacation and locally.     We bought two umbrellas for our 8 day vacation in St. Martin. We also bought the umbrella anchors. It was very windy the entire time we were there, but the anchors allowed us to have both umbrellas open all day with no issues. We'll be using them this summer on our boat.

I had lots of people come up to me asking where I got it because of the thickness of the pole, vented top and that it looked well made. Anyone who travels to relax on a beach needs one of your umbrellas!!! Greatest invention.

    We needed a quality, wind rated beach umbrella to use when we went out on our Yamaha Jet Skis. It had to fit in the front compartment, so it had to collapse smaller than a regular beach umbrella. I struggled to find one, none the less more than one brand. I found Portabrella and read the good reviews. Well we finally used it this week and we love it! Quality material and held up well with the wind. Im sure others will ask and I can send them to ShadeUSA.
